"When I met Dr. David Tannenbaum I was in tremendous pain. The whole half of my body was numb. Needless to say, my job as a surfing instructor was over. My life seemed to be over and the thought of not being able to be active (I have been a beach lifeguard and active surfer, marathoner, and triathlete for nearly 40 years) was depressing to say the least.
